Nature School at the Horse Sanctuary is a privately run nature programme for children  5 -10 years of age. Sessions are small so there are lots of opportunities for one on one attention and building safe and secure relationships. Play-based learning is at the heart of what I do, it’s where children experience authentic learning that is led by their own interests and urges.  Horses are included in the experiential learning process which supports children in their uniqueness.  Children are supported through discussions, peer interactions, trial and error, positive role-modelling and trusting relationships. Included in this is risky play as an important part of holistic child development, so there are options such as climbing, physical games with others, running, exploring areas of water and the use of tools, ropes, natural materials, loose parts and fire making.
